THE ALDERMAN ALBERT DRAPER STEAM ENGINE BACK ON THE TRACKS

We will soon be seeing this majestic steam engine, numbered 45305 back on the tracks again in its full working glory. Following a recent overhaul and now boasting a new boiler, this majestic steam engine will soon be once again taking soujourns across the main rail networks.

Restored by the Draper family, this popular engine is very close to our hearts here at the Drapers Yard in Raven Street, as we saved it from being scrapped over 40 years ago. This historic steam engine survived to the last month of steam in 1968 on British Railways. Following its restoration, the very popular steam engine has since been actively working, making lots of journeys out onto the Great Central Railway, as well as the main networks.

In its full LMS livery, the Alderman Albert Draper will soon be embarking on a new chapter, making its way up and down the tracks in all its splendour and steaming proudly into 2019 and beyond.
